MLB On Field Spring 2017 Launch
SAN CLEMENTE, CA - In May 2016, Stance and Major League Baseball (MLB®) announced a multiyear partnership that made the popular brand the league's official on-field-sock provider. Now, as part of the partnership, the on-field MLB socks are available at retail.
"We can't wait to bring our innovative sock technology and unique style to MLB's global following," said Clarke Miyasaki, EVP of Business Development at Stance. "It's an unbelievable honor for Stance to be the league's official on-field sock."
Stance also announced the addition of Chicago Cubs outfielder Jon Jay to its roster of Punks & Poets. Jay, a clubhouse leader and 2011 World Series champion, is the first brand ambassador for baseball. He joins the likes of Big Sean, Dwyane Wade, and Rihanna as a spokesperson for the burgeoning brand.
"It's incredibly exciting to be joining the Stance family," said Jay. "They've grown from a brand I looked to for lifestyle wear to a brand I also wear on the diamond, and I look forward to working closely with them."
The Stance MLB On-Field collection, which features both crew and tall silhouettes, boasts anatomical cushioning, targeted compression and superior moisture wicking. The socks are now available at stance.com, MLBShop.com, Lids, and other national retailers. For more details about the collection, follow @stancebaseball on Instagram.
Embracing “The Uncommon Thread” as its mantra, Stance has turned one of the world’s most boring accessories into its most exciting in less than five years. Stance’s founders saw a category that had been ignored, taken for granted, looked over, and dismissed. By breathing life into something that had been overlooked, Stance ignited a movement of art and self-expression that has drawn athletes, performers and iconic cultural influencers to the brand – a group they call the Punks & Poets. And by underpinning its creative roots with a relentless focus on technical innovation, Stance is now found in over 40 countries on the feet of those who dare to be different.
